The Burn Des Moines exists to serve local churches throughout the region through united prayer and collaboration, hosting 12-hour and 24-hour prayer burns. Desiring to encourage and strengthen local church leadership, intercessors and worshipers, they pray for God’s presence to transform everything around us...."Because God’s presence makes all the difference."

All youth 6th-12th grades are invited to come out on Saturday, November 17th from 10 am - 3 pm for our Holy Spirit Day! We will be closing out our Alpha series with a bang! Bring your friends because it's going to be an amazing time of small group discussions, worship, and ministry. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided in the morning and lunch later on in the day. Alfonzo “Al” Perez is an exceptional leader, cultural architect and urban specialist. He is a community power broker who networks and connects human capitol together for greater city impact. With nearly 30 years of ministry and community leadership, he is graced with an ability to transcend ethnicity, political lines, denominational divides and barriers in community that often separate the church and other community silos. He sits on several city and county boards.

Reverend Al is an advisor to the city of Des Moines on urban community development. He is founder of Regenerate 7; a community development group reaching into the seven spheres of culture that shape a city. R7 is a multicultural, multi-denominational, inter-generational group of pastors, non-profit leaders and market place people wanting to make impact in the region. Al hosts a talk show host for the TCT Network, a national Christian television network with a local affiliate. The show is called The Public Report and it highlights leaders who are influencing the gates of culture.

Rev. Alfonso is a leader in the Latino community on Latino issues and sits on the Governor’s Commission of Latino Affairs in Iowa. He is a community engagement coordinator for two organizations. Garden Gate Ranch; a human trafficking rescue and restoration organization and King Elementary public school.

Al’s love and passion for community has yielded these merits. * 2011 Who's Who Among Business Professionals and Leaders. * 2014 Iowa Character Award by Governor Robert Ray's organization Character Counts. * 2016 recipient of the Des Moines Education Association Volunteer of the Year award. * 2016 he also received the Polk County Community Champion Award. Al is a chaplain for the Des Moines Police Department and a 2015 recipient of the Community Ambassador Program Volunteer Service Recognition Award and 2017 Optimist Award Recipient with Des Moines Police Department.

You won't want to miss this! We are excited to welcome Dr. Mark Chironna back to Heartland at the end of the month for three services; Friday November 30 at 7 pm, Saturday December 1 at 6 pm and Sunday, December 2 at 10 am. There will not be childcare on Friday or Saturday night. 

Dr. Chironna is a passionate preacher of the Gospel of Christ with a media presence spanning almost 175 nations. His message of the wholeness of the Gospel that leads to the experience of wholeness in life is heard across the globe. He has a father’s heart for emerging generations.

Dr. Chironna is regarded as an influential leader whose global reach, clarion voice, and prophetic insight are respected by leaders and followers alike. He serves as the Presiding Bishop of Legacy Edge Alliance, a worldwide fellowship of senior apostolic leaders and churches. He holds multiple advanced degrees in theology and psychology, and is the founder and senior pastor of Church on the Living Edge in Orlando, Florida.

Kingdom Kids Christmas Program

Our Kingdom Kids Christmas Program will be Sunday, December 16th during the service in the main sanctuary. We will have a practice for the program on Saturday, December 15th from 10am-12pm.
